1. Choose the Right Tools
Contrary to popular opinion, the darkest wall colours are not necessarily the most difficult to cover up. Black, for example, is relatively easy to conceal when compared to blues, yellows and especially reds. If you are dealing with one of these hues, get ready to apply several coats of paint. To cut down on the volume of work, spring for quality brushes and rollers: you’ll feel the difference at the first stroke.
2. Select Quality Paint
Certain paint brands provide superior coverage to lower-end products. Obtain information at a specialized store to find the best type of paint for the colour you want to hide.
3. Adequately Prepare the Walls
As for all painting projects, one must begin by properly prepping the wall. There are no shortcuts! Patch up all holes with compound, then gently smooth out the repairs with fine sandpaper. Your paint will adhere far better to a well prepared and even surface.
